It’s a second successive game at Portland Park this Saturday, as Troon welcome Auchinleck Talbot for a 2pm kick-off.

⚽️ Troon F.C. versus Auchinleck Talbot ⚽️
Saturday 19th February 2022
PDM Buildbase WOSFL Premier Division
Portland Park, Troon
Kick-off 2pm
After a successful first half of the season in 2021, Jimmy Kirkwood’s men have made a perfect start to 2022 thus far.
Last week’s 2-1 win over Cumnock was our fifth win in a row, and has come at a crucial part of the season.
Auchinleck currently sit in 2nd place in the WOSFL Premier Division table on 57 points, as Troon sit in 7th place in the 20 team WOSFL on 42 points.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Saturday’s match…

Our squad is almost back to it’s full compliment, after being down to bare-bones for last week’s match with some key players missing.
Dean Fulton is the only one still missing this week as he serves the last match of a suspension, but Dale Moore, Sam McCloskey & Mark Morrison return this weekend after missing the win over Cumnock due to a wedding. Josh Black returned to the team last weekend without any adverse reaction, and Jack Sherrie returned after illness.
Of our long-term absentees, Todd Henderson has unfortunately suffered a setback in training & will need to go under the knife again to resolve his knee issues. It is hoped not to be as serious as his last injury, but it is likely his season is over now. Ross McCrea (knee) remains out.

We’ve been on a really good run, the important thing now is simply to keep it going. The boys have shown real togetherness the last couple of months, especially when we’ve had some key players out, and that sort of bond will do us well for the remainder of the season.
It’s been a long time since we’ve beaten Auchinleck here, but here’s hoping today’s the day.
Jimmy Kirkwood (Manager)

⚽️️ KIERAN HEALY ⚽️
A very shrewd signing by Tommy Sloan, Healy is equally comfortable as a defender or midfielder, but he has made a position his own in the heart of the Talbot midfield.
Keeps the ball with metronomic rhythm & possessing a real goal threat, Healy is a key player for Talbot.

⚽️️ CRAIG McCRACKEN ⚽️
Former Ayr United defender Craig is a mainstay at the heart of the Talbot defence, where his reading of the game & distribution are huge assets.
Craig is a significant goal threat from set-plays. Scored the famous goal that defeated Ayr United at Beechwood a couple of seasons ago.

Troon and Talbot didn’t face each other during the 2020-21 season, which was eventually declared null & void due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
In our first encounter of 2019-20, Talbot romped to a 8-1 victory in August 2019 at Beechwood Park in the heaviest defeat in recent memory for the Seasiders.
The return match in December was a far tighter affair that ended 0-2, Talbot goals coming from two former Troon players Gareth Armstrong & Stevie Wilson.
