Graeme Souness brought his Glasgow Rangers side to Portland Park at the end of the 1988-89 season to play in a Benefit match for long-serving Troon F.C. Committee man Hugh McPhee.

Before the match, Souness presented Hughie with a special certificate marking 25 years of service to the club.
