Troon are delighted to announce the signing of forward Max Guthrie following the expiry of his contract at SPFL side Edinburgh City.

The 20-year-old began his career in the youth academy ranks of his local club Ayr United, progressing well until he became involved in the first team. He enjoyed a season on loan at Stranraer in 2024-25 before returning to his parent club for 1st team duty. He moved on last season to join League Two Champions Stenhousemuir, but he found it difficult to break into their starting XI in their promotion-winning season that saw them end up in the Championship and he moved on to Edinburgh City under former Scotland international Michael McIndoe, and he became a regular contributor with 19 appearances as the club came back from a 15 point deduction at the start of last season to secure their place in League Two for another season with games to spare.

Most comfortable coming off the wing, Max is strong and direct and will keep the fans on their toes.
