Troon Football Club’s Development Team & Under 17s held a joint Player of the Year 2023-24 awards night at the club on Saturday night.
The Development Team went through a real summer of change last summer, and this season was all about putting the side back where they want to be – fighting at the sharp end of the West of Scotland Football Development League table and providing a genuine pathway into 1st team football.
Our Under 17 team had a superb season, being crowned West of Scotland Youth Football League 2007 Champions after winning 20 of their 22 league matches.
Importantly for the club, the progression of young players into the first team has continued, with 12 YOUTH ACADEMY PLAYERS playing in the first team in 2023-24, which we are absolutely delighted about. With the plans already in place for the first team and the Development Team for 2024-25, we will be very well poised to go & kick on next season.
All round, a season to be very proud of!
