⚽️ Auchinleck Talbot versus Troon F.C. ⚽️
Saturday 24th July 2021
PDM Buildbase WOSFL Premier Division
Beechwood Park, Auchinleck KA18 2AR
Kick-off 2pm
The Seasiders are on the road again, making the relatively short trip to East Ayrshire to face multiple Champions Auchinleck Talbot.
Jimmy Kirkwood’s men have had a difficult start to the new campaign, with a 3-0 defeat at Kilwinning Rangers & a 0-0 draw at home to Benburb on the card so far.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Saturday’s match…

Glad to say, we have no new injury concerns for this weekend.
Ewan McLevy returns to the squad, after missing out on Wednesday’s draw with Benburb as a precaution after suffering a head knock against Kilwinning Rangers.
Of our long-term absentees, Mark Morrison has suffered a set-back in his return bid as he has broken his toe at work. He was hoping to be back before the end of the month, but that is now delayed a few weeks. Ross McCrea is working on his rehabilitation after a setback following surgery on his cruciate knee injury, all things going well we hope to welcome him back into the side at the end of the year.

“Disappointed to miss Wednesday’s game, especially considering Jimmy was missing due to work commitments also. I was caught behind a tragic accident on the M74, so my thoughts are obviously with all involved in that.
Fortunately with Alan filming the games, I ‘ve been able to watch the whole game back and I think a draw was probably a fair result over the piece. It’s a home game, and one we were looking to take all 3 points from though, so probably disappointed in the whole.
No better game to bounce back than Talbot away. Team of the last decade, and started well as you’d expect. We will need to be at our best to compete, but we are more than capable.
Standing back & looking at the bigger picture though, the squad has benefitted from two big 90 mins proper games. Fitness and match sharpness is improving all the time, which can only be a good thing.
Jimmy & I are still working hard behind the scenes to help the squad, hopefully get some news on that soon.”
Dean Keenan (Assistant Manager)

⚽️️ KIERAN HEALY ⚽️
A very shrewd signing by Tommy Sloan, Healy is equally comfortable as a defender or midfielder, but he has made a position his own in the heart of the Talbot midfield.
Keeps the ball with metronomic rhythm & possessing a real goal threat, Healy is a key player for Talbot.

⚽️ GARETH ARMSTRONG ⚽️
A very familiar face to Seasider’s, Gaz made his name as a defender with Troon, but is another regular at the heart of the Talbot midfield.
A real athlete with a great reading of the game, Gaz has proved himself at the very highest level of the non-league game in Scotland.

Troon and Talbot didn’t face each other during the 2020-21 season, which was eventually declared null & void due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
In our first encounter of 2019-20, Talbot romped to a 8-1 victory in August 2019 at Beechwood Park in the heaviest defeat in recent memory for the Seasiders.
The return match in December was a far tighter affair that ended 0-2, Talbot goals coming from two former Troon players Gareth Armstrong & Stevie Wilson.
