Troon players Sam McCloskey and Ben Black have both been made available for permanent transfer, and the club are inviting offers.

Both players have been regular starters for the club since joining in the summer of 2021, but with added competition this season both players have found starting jerseys increasingly hard to come by. With both players fit & raring to go, they are understandably keen for first team football & the club are keen to respect that given their service to the club.

SAM McCLOSKEY

The 28 year old left-sided player began his career with Celtic before making his breakthrough with Stranraer. He joined Troon F.C. from Kilwinning Rangers in June 2021, making more than 100 appearances for the club in that time.

Frequently utilised in midfield as well as at full-back, Sam’s composure & retention of the ball has been crucial to some of our best performances in the last few seasons.

BEN BLACK

The 27 year old has frequently been a stellar performer for the Seasiders since joining Troon from Largs Thistle in July 2021.

Equally comfortable on either flank, Ben began his “Junior” career at Irvine Meadow XI before moving on to Largs where he spent 3 seasons & reached the Scottish Junior Cup Final in 2019.
