Troon are delighted to announce the signing of Stephen Docherty from Pollok.

The 25 year old forward began his career in the Lowland League with East Kilbride, spending four years at K-Park, before moving east to Camelon in 2021 following the Covid pandemic. He joined Petershill in 2021 where he enjoyed a record breaking season, scoring 34 goals in his one season at Peasy Park before securing a move to Pollok in the summer of 2022.

After a successful loan spell at Gartcairn, he ignited his ‘Lok career & his versatility came to the fore at Newlandsfield, as he showed a threat from both wide areas as well as through the middle, and his goal record of 34 goals in 95 matches showed exactly that.

Manager Jimmy Kirkwood was pleased to secure one of his main transfer targets.

Stephen is an excellent signing for us, he was a player we had in our mind all season & he was superb each time he played against us, and each time we saw him. He adds some height & physicality to our front line, but he’s a very tricky player who complements how we play. He carries a proper goal threat from all over, so I’m really pleased he decided to commit his future to Troon.

Stephen will join Troon on 1st July, following the expiry of his contract at Pollok.
