Troon are delighted to announce the signing of defender Carter Frew from WOSFL Premier Division side Hurlford United.

The 24 year old began his career in the highly-rated St. Mirren Youth Academy at the age of 10, and he progressed through the ranks in his 9 seasons at Ralston before he moved on to join Hurlford United in 2021 at the age of 19.

Equally comfortable at right-back as well as centre-back, Carter was crowned the Supporter’s Player of the Year for the season just finished, and he also won the Committee Player of the Year last season which just shows how highly rated he was at the ‘Ford. Following more than 150 appearances at Blair Park, with 14 goals, he has decided to seek a new challenge.

Carter was always one of Manager Jimmy Kirkwood’s number 1 targets this summer, and we are delighted to bring him to Troon.
