Troon play our first game under the floodlights this season as we travel to Townhead Park in Cumnock on Wednesday night.

⚽️ Cumnock versus Troon F.C. ⚽️
Wednesday 29th September 2021
PDM Buildbase WOSFL Premier Division
Townhead Park, Cumnock
Kick-off 7.30pm
The rollercoaster ride of following Troon continued on Saturday with a sterling 1-0 win over Hurlford following a defeat away to Benburb and an amazing 13-0 win over Mid Annandale in the South Challenge Cup.
It’s a hugely important week for the club this week and, having started off perfectly with a win over Hurlford, we have two tough away trips starting off with Cumnock.
A massively talented Cumnock squad have had their ups & downs this season as well, with 6 wins and 6 defeats in their 12 league games to date so far. They now sit in 10th position, 3 places ahead of Troon in the table, and with two games in hand.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Wednesday’s match…

For the first time in a long-time, we have very nearly a full squad for this match. Sam McCloskey & Jaime Gallagher are slight doubts, but are expected to be fine for the match.
Of our long-term absentees, Mark Morrison (knee) remains out. Ross McCrea is working on his rehabilitation after a setback following surgery on his cruciate knee injury, all things going well we hope to welcome him back into the side at the turn of the year. Todd Henderson is is grafting very hard indeed as he recovers from surgery on his knee injury & he is targeting a return to training very soon.

Delighted with the win on Saturday. It was the perfect response from the players, to a man they were magnificent. Real squad effort and hopefully bodes well for the future.
Really looking forward to taking on Cumnock and Tony (McInally), someone who I have a ton of respect for and has been a great guide for me as an upcoming Coach/Manager.
Similar to ourselves, they have been crippled with injuries but they have a talented squad and we know how tough a test it will be. Hopefully, the points will be returning to Portland Park.
Dean Keenan (Assistant Manager)

⚽️️ SMART OSADOLOR ⚽️
A man of many clubs, the 30 year old has hit the ground running with Cumnock since joining from Elgin City in July.
The tall centre-forward, who has 32 senior goals in just over a hundred appearances, is a danger to any opponent.

⚽️ ALAN MURDOCH ⚽️
In a squad of many “weel kent faces” 28 year old centre-back Alan has been a rock & a regular since Tony McInally was appointed.
The former Ayr United Academy graduate, another former Albion Rovers player, is a very under-rated player who goes about his business with confidence & assurance.

Troon and Cumnock didn’t face each other during the 2020-21 season, which was eventually declared null & void due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
In our first encounter of 2019-20, the teams played out an exciting 1-1 draw in August 2019 at Portland Park thanks to strikes from Evan Maley & Jordan Banks.
The return match in March was postponed & eventually cancelled after the first national lockdown was announced just the night before.
