Troon are delighted to announce the return of Chris Millar following his departure from Clyde.
The midfielder began his career with Greenock Morton, after a spell with Celtic youth, before moving to St. Johnstone in 2008.
Millar helped St Johnstone win the 2008-09 Scottish First Division, and with it promotion to the Scottish Premier League. Millar was a regular for the next decade at McDiarmid Park, and was the heartbeat of the midfield in the side that won the 2013–14 Scottish Cup.
He returned to Cappielow in 2018 and spent 3 seasons back at his hometown club before a successful season as Captain at East Kilbride, lifting the Lowland League Cup, before he joined Kilwinning Rangers last summer.
He arrived at Portland Park in July and in his short few months at Portland Park, Midge proved a very popular member of the dressing room & has made his presence felt on the park, before being appointed Clyde Assistant Manager in September. But following Manager Brian McLean’s departure, and the appointment of Ian McCall as their new Manager, we are delighted to welcome him back into the fold.
Chris comes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s match against Thornton Hibs in our South Challenge Cup match at Portland Park.
Welcome back, Midge!
