After enjoying the home comforts of Portland Park for five matches in a row, our hard-working volunteers get to enjoy an away match for a change when we head to visit our friends at Beith for our 28th WOSFL Premier Division match of the season.

⚽️ Beith versus Troon F.C. ⚽️
Saturday 4th May 2024
PDM Huws Gray WOSFL Premier Division
Bellsdale Park, Beith
Kick-off 2pm
There are only 3 games to go for the Seasiders now, and it’s results that matter to see us finish as high up the table as possible. 3 wins and a draw in our last 5 matches have secured our place in the Premier Division for a 7th season in a row, our longest ever run in the top flight by far, but Manager Jimmy Kirkwood’s sights are set on a top 10 finish.
Beith are in the middle of a hot run of form, having demolished Glenafton 9-0 last Saturday. After securing the title last season, they have backed that up with some impressive displays and have risen to the top of the league to prove any doubters wrong once again.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Saturday’s match…

Unusually at this time of the season, we have a scarcity of injuries with only Ben Black absent through a niggling groin injury.
It was fantastic to see Nicky Docherty return to the park for the last 10 minutes of last Saturday’s match, having sat out since Christmas with a knee injury sustained against Hurlford United. Aldin El-Zubaidi and Rabin Omar have shaken off niggling injuries & have been back in action, which is a timely boost coming into the last few important games.

We’re into the final stretch, and we can secure a decent finish if we focus on the task in hand. This league just gets tougher and tougher every year, and a top 10 finish in this league will represent a very respectable campaign.
The Glenafton win was very satisfying, and the boys deserve an awful lot of credit for turning up & getting the job done when required. Glenafton are a good side, a top club and they had been in terrific form, so to beat them & almost do it comfortably given what was at stake is very impressive.
Beith are doing exactly what they did last season, they are chalking up the wins in impressive fashion. What Chris Strain did last season was just incredible, he’ll be taking great delight at doing it for a second season & proving the doubters wrong all over again.
Last away day of the season this, one of our favourite trips as well. Let’s enjoy our away day & look forward to bringing the season home in style in front of our home crowd!

⚽️️ CIARAN DIVER ⚽️

23 year old Ciaran has made quite an unbelievable impact at Bellsdale since signing from Renfrew in the summer, scoring a whopping 26 goals in 26 games already.
Began his career at Celtic, with loan spells at Edinburgh City & Stranraer, he joined Benburb & eventually Renfrew, scoring plenty of goals on the way. Ciaran is the son of former Ayr & Pollok striker Danny.
⚽️️ ANDY MONK ⚽️

Left winger Andy has been crucial to the success under Chris Strain at Beith, with some scintillating performances from the left flank where he is always good for a goal or an assist.
Began his career in the Lowland League with BSC Glasgow (now Broomhill), he had a spell in America before returning to Scotland with Benburb, Blantyre & then Beith. It’d need to be Berwick or Brechin next then, you’d expect.
