Defender Tommy Maitland has joined Maybole for an undisclosed fee.

Tommy began his career at Gretna before spells with Irvine Victoria & Dalry Thistle. In January 2012 he signed for Girvan, where he spent three seasons. Tommy was Chris Strain’s first signing as Manager at Abbey Park in March 2014, where he enjoyed seven seasons at the Buffs before signing for Troon in May 2021.

Tommy had an excellent first campaign at Portland Park, being named Committee Player of the Year at the end of the season after his rock solid displays at the back helped guide us to safety in the WOSFL Premier Division. This season has just not got going for him, due to injury & work commitments, and he is now ready to get back playing again.

He joins his former team-mate Carlo Walker at Maybole, as they close in on promotion to the First Division, sitting three points from the promotion spot with three games in hand.

All the best, Tommy!
