Troon are back on the road this Saturday, as we head up to the central belt to Clackmannanshire for our South Challenge Cup 4th Round clash at the second attempt.

⚽️ Sauchie versus Troon F.C. ⚽️
Saturday 5th March 2022
The South Challenge Cup (4th Round)
Beechwood Park, Sauchie
Kick-off 2.30pm
Jimmy Kirkwood’s men have only lost one match in 2022 so far, a narrow & frustrating home defeat to Auchinleck Talbot, but got back on track following last week’s convincing win at Largs Thistle. But this week’s trip to Sauchie in the South Challenge Cup will test our team to the full.
Troon qualified for the 4th round courtesy of a 2-1 win over Largs at Barrfields, a 3-1 win at home to Lanark United & a thumping 13-0 win against Mid-Annandale at Portland Park.
Sauchie currently sit in 10th place in the 18 team EOSFL Premier Division table, as Troon sit in 7th place in the 20 team WOSFL.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Saturday’s match…

Our squad is now back to it’s full compliment, after being down to bare-bones for recent matches with some key players missing.
Of our long-term absentees, Todd Henderson has unfortunately suffered a setback in training & is due to go under the knife again to resolve his knee issues. It is hoped not to be as serious as his last injury, but it is likely his season is over now. Ross McCrea (knee) remains out.

I thought our second half performance last week against Largs shows the determination that exists within the squad, a real desire. Fantastic to watch, and the supporters all enjoyed it to the full.
This is a big game for both clubs. We’ve done as much homework as we can on Sauchie & by all reports we have a tough game ahead of us. But on current form, they can certainly expect the same for us.The carrot of Linlithgow Rose away on the 22nd is huge, so both clubs will obviously be doing everything they can to be there.
Jimmy Kirkwood (Manager)
