A MESSAGE FROM THE WOSFDL AND THE STADIUM OPERATORS
SPECTATOR BEHAVIOUR
Naturally spectators will be eager to support their team Cup Final. Whilst we want to facilitate the spectator enjoyment of the occasion, it must be recognised that New Voluntary Park is an Scottish FA licensed ground and as a result the following conditions apply.
ALCOHOL
The controls over carrying and consuming alcohol are set out in Part II of the Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 1995.
This law makes it illegal for spectators to :
- be in possession of alcohol or a controlled container or attempt to take alcohol into the stadium
- attempt to enter while drunk, or be drunk within the stadium; and
- carry or consume alcohol on a coach or train specifically hired for the carrying for supporters to a designated event at a designated ground
Any spectator attempting to enter the stadium under the influence of alcohol, or found to be in possession of alcohol within the stadium, will be refused entry or ejected from the stadium.
PYROTECHNICS, FLARES or SMOKE BOMBS
It is illegal to have pyrotechnics of any kind inside a football stadium and under the Fireworks and Pyrotechnics Articles (Scotland) Act 2022. Anyone attempting to take any such items into the stadium will be refused entry and anyone using them inside the stadium will be ejected from the stadium.
PITCH INVASIONS
Spectators should remain behind the pitch boundary within the confines of the stand at all times. It is illegal for spectators to encroach onto the pitch under the Football (Offences) Act 1991. Any encroachment onto the field will be dealt with accordingly. In recent years there has been a rise of spectators, particularly of the winning team, seeking to invade the park to celebrate their success. Such behaviour will not be permitted and may prevent the official presentation of the trophy to the winning side.
Please note that in terms of the use of any form of Pyrotechnics, or onfield pitch encroachment by spectators, the Club will be held responsible for the conduct of their supporters and may face disciplinary action as a result of any breach.
