Troon are delighted to announce the signing of towering centre-back Stephen Bronsky from Gartcairn for an undisclosed fee.

30 year old Stephen began his career at Clyde before embarking on a stellar senior career where he recorded 165 appearances in the professional leagues. Following a career change, he moved into part-time football & joined Kirkintilloch Rob Roy in late 2022 but he moved on the following summer and joined Darvel, under Tony McInally, where he enjoyed a successful season lifting both the West of Scotland Cup and then the Scottish Junior Cup at Broadwood in June.

Manager Jimmy Kirkwood was delighted to land the former Dumbarton player.

He’s a very sensible signing for us, his experience and quality give us another option at the back.

We’ve been looking carefully at where we are at this stage of the season and it’s great to see we’re the top scorers in the league, based on goals per game, but we’ve conceded the 7th most goals which tells you straight away where we need to tighten up. Stephen’s 30, so he’s in his prime years but will bring a commanding presence at set-plays (in both boxes) & in open play, which will compliment some of the players we have well.

Welcome to Portland Park, Stephen!
