Troon are delighted to announce the return of David Syme from Darvel, on loan until the end of the season.

The 25 year old defender began his career as a youth at Kilmarnock Football Club, making his debut in April 2015 against Motherwell, scoring his side’s only goal in a 2-1 defeat at Rugby Park.

He later played for Partick Thistle, Raith Rovers & Cowdenbeath before joining Troon in March 2018, where he helped us to promotion back to the Premier Division after just one year away.

He spent four years at Kilwinning Rangers, before joining Darvel in March 2022 for a record transfer fee for both clubs. David suffered a serious knee injury in only his fourth match for Darvel against, and following surgery & a lengthy rehab programme he is now fit & ready to make an impact on the Premier Division once again.

Upon approval of all paperwork from Hampden, David will come straight into the squad for Wednesday’s match at home to Pollok.

Welcome back to Portland Park, Davie!
