⚽️ Kilbirnie Ladeside versus Troon F.C. ⚽️
Saturday 7th August 2021
PDM Buildbase WOSFL Premier Division
Valefield Park, Kilbirnie KA25 6HU
Kick-off 2pm
After three home games on the bounce, the Seasiders are on their travels with a short trip to Valefield Park.
Jimmy Kirkwood’s men have had a frustrating week, with strong performances not showing the rewards after successive 0-1 defeats at the hands of Clydebank & Cumbernauld United.
Kilbirnie have had a tumultuous week, with their management team departing after a run of six successive defeats ending with a 6-1 hammering at home to Rossvale on Wednesday night.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Saturday’s match…

The run of four weeks with games Saturday / Wednesday is starting to take it’s toll on all the teams, and we are no exception. A few of the boys have been receiving treatment with aches & pains, but should be fine for Saturday’s match no problem.
Mark Morrison returned to the side on Wednesday with no ill effects, which is a great boost for the side. New signing Stevie Wilson has gone from no football in 16 months to 3 games in a week, but fellow new signing Andy Heaney patiently waits his turn.
Of our long-term absentees, Ross McCrea is working on his rehabilitation after a setback following surgery on his cruciate knee injury, all things going well we hope to welcome him back into the side at the end of the year. Todd Henderson is now recovering at home after surgery on his knee injury & he is targeting a November return to action.

It was a disappointing evening on Wednesday. Let ourselves and the club down. However, it’s important that we bounce back and quickly.
The management team will work extremely hard to rectify what’s gone wrong so far and work with the players to improve our league position.
There are no easy games in this league, and we are witness to that. Kilbirnie have a tremendous support and I’m sure Martin will have them fired up, he was a winner and leader as player, so I’d like to wish him all the best with his foray into management…. just after Saturday!
Dean Keenan (Assistant Manager)

⚽️️ MARTIN McBRIDE ⚽️
Former Partick Thistle & Kirkintilloch Rob Roy midfielder Martin only signed for Kilbirnie last summer, but he is already a vital player in the Blasties midfield.
Martin will lead the side as Caretaker Manager for the first time, after the departure of Manager Martin Ferry this week.

⚽️ JON SCULLION ⚽️
A hugely talented winger who can play anywhere across the front, Jon has become a bit of a talisman for Ladeside.
Formerly with Greenock Morton & St. Mirren, Jon’s quick feet make him a matchwinner.

Troon and Kilbirnie didn’t face each other during the 2020-21 season, which was eventually declared null & void due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
In our first encounter of season 2019-20, Kilbirnie triumphed 4-3 in August at Valefield. In the New Year return leg, a 1-1 draw was the end result after a fascinating game.
