Jack Barr Update

Our on-loan young defender Jack Barr unfortunately suffered a serious looking injury today, which eventually forced the abandonment of our WOSFL Cup Quarter-Final against Drumchapel United.

Fortunately, the news from the hospital tonight is much better than was initially feared at the time. Jack has suffered a broken nose, possibly a fractured cheekbone (too swollen to be certain for now) & has suffered a concussion. He’ll no doubt be sore for a good few days, but there is no damage to his neck which was the primary concern at the time.

Jack’s parent club St. Mirren will now follow the Scottish FA concussion protocol guidelines, and help nurse Jack back to fitness.

A huge thank you to everyone who has sent their best wishes to Jack, to today’s match officials & the Drumchapel club officials.

We look forward to seeing Jack back in a Troon jersey before too long!

WELL DONE DARRELL

A special thank you has to go to our Sports Therapist Darrell Dunscombe for his expert attention to Jack today. As usual, he was straight out & couldn’t have looked after Jack better until the ambulance arrived. Darrell goes above & beyond on a continual basis at the club, and his care & attention does not go unnoticed.

Lucky to have him at the club!

RE-ARRANGED FIXTURE

Today’s abandoned fixture will be rearranged for another date, which is to be advised by WOSFL Fixtures Secretary Kennie Young. This is likely to be a midweek match under the lights, given the fixtures congestion.
