Troon are back home this weekend and welcome old friends Hurlford United to Portland Park.

⚽️ Troon F.C. versus Hurlford United ⚽️
Saturday 25th September 2021
PDM Buildbase WOSFL Premier Division
Portland Park, Troon
Kick-off 2pm
Very little sums up the life of a Troon fan better than the last fortnight, with Saturday’s low of a 5-1 defeat at Benburb following hot on the heels of the thrills of last weekend’s amazing 13-0 win over Mid Annandale in the South Challenge Cup. Which Troon will turn up this weekend?
After pessimism clouded Hurlford’s pre-season, they have made a sterling start to the campaign and are sitting comfortably in 6th position in the table.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Saturday’s match…

As with most teams after a hectic month, a combination of injuries & Covid are playing their part just now & we continue to miss some key players. But there is starting to be some light at the end of the tunnel!
Stephen Wilson returns today following suspension, and Dean Fulton, Josh Black & Ben Black all return to the squad after missing last Saturday.
Raymond Montgomerie, Jaime Gallagher & Tyler Burns all returned to the pitch on Saturday without any adverse reactions, and Lewis McDowall is back in full training as well.
Of our long-term absentees, Mark Morrison (knee) has re-joined the list. Ross McCrea is working on his rehabilitation after a setback following surgery on his cruciate knee injury, all things going well we hope to welcome him back into the side at the end of the year. Todd Henderson is off his crutches next week as he recovers from surgery on his knee injury & he is targeting a November return to action.

Last week fell well below the standard we set each other and we are determined to bounce back.
Darren has done an unbelievable job with Hurlford this season. Looked a difficult summer for them from the outside in and to be up the top challenging tells its own story.
Will be an incredibly tough game, but one which we are relishing. Training has been excellent and we hope to keep the points at Portland Park.
Dean Keenan (Assistant Manager)

⚽️️ PAUL McKENZIE ⚽️
A club legend at the Ford, Taz was listed as Hurlford’s Player of the Decade after 8 years at Blair Park since joining from Glenafton Athletic.
Comfortable anywhere across midfield or the front positions, Taz has scored in two Scottish Cup finals & has a full set of cup winners medals.

⚽️ LEWIS MORRISON ⚽️
22 year old forward Lewis has an excellent pedigree after spending a number of years in the Kilmarnock & St. Mirren Youth Academies, and he’s starting to put that to good use at Hurlford where he has produced some eye-catching displays.
Quick & with a keen eye for goal, Lewis is at the forefront of the new look team being assembled at Blair Park.

Troon and Hurlford didn’t face each other during the 2020-21 season, which was eventually declared null & void due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
In our first encounter of 2019-20, Hurlford recorded a 2-1 victory in August 2019 at Blair Park thanks to strikes from Calum Watt & Liam Caddis.
The return match in November was an amazing affair that ended 4-1, Troon goals coming from Dylan Pooler, a brace from Scott Chatham & a dramatic effort from John Gemmell.
