Troon F.C. on Charity Push

Troon F.C. staff & players have embarked on a challenge to run 833 kilometres before the end of January (517.6 miles in 18 days) to try and raise some funds for mental health charity in Scotland.

Why 833km, you might ask?

833 people committed suicide in Scotland last year, which is a truly devastating statistic. That’s 833 families who have been changed for ever, 833 groups of friends who will never be complete again. 833 who will be sorely missed.

To break that down even further, that’s:

  • 69 a month
  • 16 a week
  • 2 a day

And that’s only Scotland, the UK figure is 3360 men. And 3360 devastated families. But raising awareness is not enough on it’s own, we all need to look out for each other far better.

Please help us raise vital funds for The Kris Boyd Charity, a charity which carries out great work in the community and with the people that really need it. They use sport, and football in particular, to help youngsters find positive pathways in life.

The Troon players should be applauded for their efforts – please follow the link below and give generously!
