Forward Sam Jamieson has today joined Johnstone Burgh for an undisclosed fee.

Sam began his career at Rangers at the age of 7 as a youth prospect & he enjoyed nearly 10 years at Murray Park before moving on to St. Mirren in the summer of 2017 in search of first-team football. Loan spells with University of Stirling & Brechin City, and a short spell at East Kilbride later, he spent 2020-21 with Albion Rovers where he made a very good impression.

In his first season at Troon, Sam scored 22 goals in 39 games to finish top scorer & take a clean sweep of awards, alongside the Manager’s Player of the Year and Player’s Player of the Year. He followed that up with 14 goals in all competitions last season, making it 39 goals in 88 competitive matches in total in his first spell.

He joined a Cumnock side who lifted the Scottish Junior Cup that summer, but they were a club in turmoil after Brian McGinty’s departure, Jordan Moore’s sale for a record transfer & Johnny Doyle’s late arrival. Murdo MacKinnon became their third Manager of the season before departing late in the season, before Stephen Swift was appointed & the new broom swept clean.

Sam returned to Portland Park in August 2024 and he ended up cementing his place in Troon’s history, as he scored the injury-time winner that saw us lift the West of Scotland Cup on that amazing day in May.
