Support the Three Peaks Challenge for Charity!

Three former Troon F.C. players are taking on the UK Three Peaks Challenge to raise vital funds for a cause very close to their hearts.

Cammy McKinnell, Marty Fraser & Neil Sanderson will be amongst a group of friends who will be scaling the three highest peaks of Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) all within 24 hours to raise money for Stroke Association. A total hiking distance of 37km (23 miles) and a total ascent of 3064 metres. Not to mention over 450 miles of driving added into the mix, which will make this quite an achievement & something to be well supported!

Why the Stroke Association?

When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt.

Cammy had an Ischaemic stroke ten years ago in November 2013 (aged just 27) whilst Captaining Troon against Kilwinning Rangers. He received incredible support to help him navigate getting back to as much day to day life as possible from Stroke Association.

Two thirds of stroke survivors find themselves living with a disability, and 40% of survivors experience anxiety and depression. There is hope however, thanks to the unique approach from the Stroke Association to help with the emotional, practical and financial implications of having a stroke. Their specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community.

How Can you help?

The walkers are targeting a total raised of £1500 with this walk, but we think we can help them raise more than that.
