Forward Sam Jamieson has today joined Cumnock for an undisclosed fee.

Sam began his career at Rangers at the age of 7 as a youth prospect & he enjoyed nearly 10 years at Murray Park before moving on to St. Mirren in the summer of 2017 in search of first-team football. Loan spells with University of Stirling & Brechin City, and a short spell at East Kilbride later, he spent 2020-21 with Albion Rovers where he made a very good impression.

In his first season at Troon, Sam scored 22 goals in 39 games to finish top scorer & take a clean sweep of awards, alongside the Manager’s Player of the Year and Player’s Player of the Year. He followed that up with 14 goals in all competitions last season, and has the solitary strike on his record this season, a goal away at Glenafton in early August.

He joins a Cumnock side who lifted the Scottish Junior Cup last season, but have seen some important changes since then. Brian McGinty departed the hot seat to be replaced by former St. Cadoc’s boss John Doyle & top scorer Jordan Moore departed for Darvel for a record transfer, leaving Sam front & centre of their attack.
