Defender Nicky Docherty has moved on from the club, after a year at Portland Park.

The left-back or centre-back joined Troon last summer after the expiry of his contract at Beith, and he made 18 appearances for the club scoring 1 goal. He suffered a season ending injury in our Hogmanay match at home to Hurlford when he injured his knee, but his hard work with our physio Darrell meant he was almost back to full fitness right at the end of the season, with a couple of sub appearances in our closing matches.

The 33 year old defender began his career as a youth with Livingston before spells with Westerton & Blantyre Victoria, before he spent two seasons at Drumchapel United. Stevie Easton signed Nicky for Beith in the summer of 2012 and he proceeded to lift almost every honour in the game in his time at Bellsdale.

Following the expiry of his contract, he departed Portland Park & has now signed for WOSFL Premier Division rivals Darvel.
