Troon are delighted to announce the signing of Dale Burgess from Beith for an undisclosed fee.
The 28 year old goalkeeper began his career as a youth at Renfrew Victoria Boys Club, before making the move to Junior football with Dalry Thistle. He signed for his local side Renfrew in the summer of 2014 and spent five successful seasons at New Western Park.
Dale signed for Stranraer in June 2019 to provide competition for young no goalkeeper Max Currie, and then he joined Beith in the summer of 2020.
Manager Jimmy Kirkwood was delighted to secure a key target.
Very pleased to secure Dale’s signing, he was our number 1 target & we’re delighted to secure his signing so early in the summer. He is a keeper we have been very keen on back to his Renfrew days, he was outstanding against us the season we won promotion back to the Premier & somebody we’ve kept our eye on since.
We’ve always been blessed to have outstanding keepers at Troon in my time, from Darren to Semple, Marty to ScoJo, and Dale helps us carry that on. We’ll be strong next year.
The man himself was delighted with the move.
Buzzing to get this deal done, and get in about it with the boys. Looking forward to seeing what this new chapter has to offer and what we can be up there challenging for!
Soon as I spoke to Jimmy it was a no brainer for me, club on the front foot with the best of facilities. Let’s do it!
Welcome to Portland Park, Dale!
