The detailed groundworks are continuing at Portland Park, with the holes dug for the four floodlights & the concrete poured in preparation for the stanchions arriving next week.

Following the news our request for planning permission had been granted a couple of months ago, our Chairman Jim Kirkwood has been working hard alongside our contractors to carry out the schedule of works & we were all pleased to break ground last month on the project.

SUPPORTER ADVICE FOR UPCOMING MATCHES

Supporters are advised of the following for our home matches in November against Glasgow Perthshire & St Cuthbert Wanderers:

• The areas illustrated red above are “Out of Bounds” whilst the works are continuing.

• The car park to the rear of the club will be closed as a safety measure. Supporters are advised to park their vehicles in either the Shore Road public car park, Academy Street public car park or even in nearby Gillies Street, all of which are a few minutes walk from the ground itself.
  
  This allows space for our supporters with more limited mobility to park at the few spaces just outside the ground off Portland Street.

• We have zoned off access to the terracing on the railway side for the time being, until the floodlights have been installed & the terracing is restored. Spectator areas will be at the clubhouse side & the road end for now.

These will, understandably, just be short-term measures until the work is completed & we expect the zoned off areas to be back in use for any home matches in December.

NEXT STAGES

The stanchions are anticipated to be delivered this week & are due to be erected week beginning 14th November. After this, the electrical work will be completed & the floodlight heads installed. The expectation is that we will be able to test the floodlights before the end of November & then we will be in a position to schedule matches under floodlights for the first time in nearly 20 years.
