Troon F.C. are delighted to announce the signing of wide man Ben Reilly from Kelty Hearts.
22 year-old Ben is starting his second spell with the club, having initially joined us from Cowdenbeath last September. His all-action style made him a fans favourite, and his attitude on the park made him an invaluable selection down the right-hand flank.
Ben began his career in the famed Hamilton Academicals youth system, before being picked up by Rangers as a 14 year old, enjoying four seasons at Murray Park as part of the Ibrox youth teams. He returned to Hamilton for a couple of years, before departing for Livingston and then East Fife. He had a 6 month spell at Cowdenbeath before he moved on to Portland Park.
An exciting few months followed at Portland Park, where he made the right back spot his own with his rampaging runs a trademark. Albion Rovers took notice, and Kevin Harper made his move to take Ben to Cliftonhill in January and he was part of the side that completed “the Great Escape” from relegation. He joined Barry Ferguson’s revolution at Lowland League Kelty in the summer.
Ben goes straight into the squad for Saturday’s Macron Scottish Cup match at home to Kilsyth Rangers.
Welcome back, Ben!
