Planning Permission granted

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our proposal for planning has been accepted by South Ayrshire Council.

We now have permission to erect floodlights at Portland Park, construct a Multi-Use Games Area and expand our car parking to bring our ground right into the 21st century.

This will also see us embark on the long path to achieve our SFA licence, hopefully in time to see it ratified by the end of this season which will enable Troon Football Club to enter next season’s Scottish Cup alongside the biggest clubs in Scotland.

Troon previously had floodlights erected in the mid-1990s, although they came down with storm damage in 2007, but the new stanchions will be a game changer for the club.

Following the move into the West of Scotland Football League in the summer of 2020, Troon are now part of the professional pyramid in Scottish football. With us currently sitting at tier 6, we have the perfect opportunity to future proof our club with this news which will give us a real boost right through the club & the Troon F.C. Youth Academy.

The real hard work begins now as we engage with contractors to schedule works, but everyone at the club owes a huge vote of thanks to Chairman Jim Kirkwood, who has worked tirelessly to make this idea become a reality.

Keep your eyes peeled as the developments progress, but it’s an exciting time to be a Troon F.C. supporter!
