Troon’s left-sided player Kieran MacDonald has been made available for permanent transfer at the player’s request, and the club are inviting offers.
The 31 year old began his career in the SPL with Motherwell, before he joined Jim Duffy’s Clyde in 2012, going on to make 51 appearances at Broadwood, before Alex Neil swooped to take him back to the Premiership with Hamilton in 2014.
Short spells on loan to Dumbarton & East Fife followed, before arguably his most successful spell in the SPFL followed with a four season run at Airdrieonians, where he racked up 113 appearances at the Excelsior Stadium. He lifted the SPFL League One title with Raith in 2019-20 and reached the Championship Play-Offs the following season before he made a move to part-time football, and a return to Hamilton beckoned. After a season back at New Douglas Park he headed for Edinburgh City, before his first foray into the WOSFL with Gartcairn in the summer of 2023 as they prepared for their first season in the Premier Division. Kieran impressed instantly, performing in both full-back & midfield positions, and he became a stand-out performer in the league. His form caught the eye of Lowland League side East Kilbride, and he lifted the Lowland League title in 2025 at K-Park, before helping the side to promotion to the SPFL via the play-offs.
The Lowland League winner moved to Portland Park in June, and his impact was almost immediate, with an assist in his first match away to Craigmark. But following the return from injury of long-serving Jack Sherrie, and with the player fit & raring to go, he is understandably keen for first team football & the club are keen to respect that.
