⚽️ Troon F.C. versus Cumbernauld United ⚽️
Wednesday 4th August 2021
PDM Buildbase WOSFL Premier Division
Portland Park, Troon KA10 6QN
Kick-off 7.30pm
The Seasiders round off three home games on the spin with the visit of Cumbernauld United to Portland Park.
Jimmy Kirkwood’s men have had a mixed week, with a 4-2 victory over Kirkintilloch Rob Roy & a 0-1 defeat at the hands of Clydebank on the card so far.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Wednesday’s match…
The run of four weeks with games Saturday / Wednesday is starting to take it’s toll on all the teams, and we are no exception. A few of the boys have been receiving treatment with aches & pains, but should be fine for Wednesday’s match no problem.
Mark Morrison trained on Monday after months out of action following ankle surgery & is very close to a return already. New signing Stevie Wilson made his first start in his second spell at the club on Saturday, but fellow new signing Andy Heaney patiently waits his turn.
Of our long-term absentees, Ross McCrea is working on his rehabilitation after a setback following surgery on his cruciate knee injury, all things going well we hope to welcome him back into the side at the end of the year. Todd Henderson is now recovering at home after surgery on his knee injury & he is targeting a November return to action.
We’re looking for a reaction from Saturday off the players. I thought the game got away from us, which was disappointing.
The squad are fully aware that we need to start putting points on the board.
We are well aware of the threats from Cumbernauld on Wednesday. We’ve done our homework, Tony has them incredibly fit and has added really good quality in the summer.
Looking forward to hopefully a good contest with the points hopefully remaining firmly at Portland Park.

⚽️️ DANNY BOYLE ⚽️
An excellent summer signing by Tony Fraser, Danny is a solid defender of great repute after spells with Kirkintilloch Rob Roy, Pollok, Auchinleck Talbot and most recently Gartcairn.
Now Club Captain, Danny is strong in the tackle & a real threat in both boxes.
⚽️ KLARK THOMSON ⚽️
A hugely talented winger who can play anywhere across the front, Klark really shone for the ‘Nauld in the last couple of seasons & is the main creative influence in this United side.
Formerly with Auchinleck Talbot, Klark could be one to watch in the Premier Division this season.
