Lewis Allan joins Hurlford on loan

Highly-rated young Troon defender Lewis Allan has joined WOSFL Premier Division side Hurlford United on loan to further his development.

Young Lewis first caught the eye when he excelled in Dean Keenan’s testimonial match at the heart of the Ayr United defence, and he is a player who has been on our radar ever since. When he departed Somerset Park the following summer, he moved on to the Lowland League with Caledonian Braves. After picking up an injury early on, he moved to Maybole on loan before returning keen to make his mark on their first team. Following his departure from Caledonian Braves, he was immediately invited in to train & has featured as a trialist before putting pen to paper this week.

The 19 year old’s versatility means he is comfortable at full-back or centre-back, and even in centre midfield. He began his career with his local boys club Bellfield, before spending 8 years in the Ayr United Youth Academy, where he played alongside his younger brother Jack Allan.

He joins Graeme Neil’s young Hurlford side who are regrouping following a summer of change at Blair Park, and he is perfectly placed to play an important role as they climb the league.

All the very best Lewis, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Portland Park!
