The big matches just keep coming, and this weekend we travel to a familiar venue in Townhead Park to take on Stephen Swift’s Cumnock in our 16th GreenVersity WOSFL Premier Division match of the season.

Saturday 22nd February 2025
GreenVersity WOSFL Premier Division
Townhead Park, Cumnock
Kick-off 2pm
Rollercoaster of a few weeks, culminating in Wednesday night’s rout of St. Cadoc’s at Portland Park. A few weeks of frustrating performances where we were excellent without a goal threat, but as soon as the early goal went in a cloud lifted & we saw a really different side again, back to what we saw earlier in the season. Great to see a number of players involved in the squad from our Development Team as well.
Cumnock have had a season of frustration after another summer of huge change. Their new Management team, in the shape of former Kilbirnie gaffer Stephen Swift and former Glenafton gaffer Craig McEwan, oversaw a raft of new signings, but the season has not gone quite to plan & they currently sit in 11th. A superb squad will surely click & kick on anytime soon.
Hereβs everything you need to know ahead of Saturdayβs matchβ¦

Captain Mark Morrison misses out today after picking up his 6th booking of the season last Saturday against Johnstone Burgh.
Dean Fulton & Ben Black miss out with hamstring strains and Logan Smith isnβt quite ready to return after a hamstring injury, although he is edging ever closer. Only other absentees are long-term absentees Scott McLean & Ewan McLevy.

Well, that was a little better on Wednesday night! I felt a wee bit for St. Cadoc’s, because we could have done that to anybody in the last wee while, but I was very pleased to see us hit the goal trail. Kyle has been superb this season, delighted for him to net a hat-trick.
Look at the matches between Troon and Cumnock in the last 3-4 years, it normally equals goals. The new management at Townhead haven’t been shy in the transfer market & recruited really well, so as always we’ll look forward to shaping up against a top side. It’s the sort of challenge we relish, that’s for sure.

β½οΈοΈ CAMMY CHALMERS β½οΈ

The young midfielder is considered a hot prospect at Townhead, having been a summer recruit from Broomhill where he was included in the Lowland League Team of the Year last season.
The 19 year old came through the youth ranks with Broomhill, and has a composure which belies his youth. A creative force in their midfield which requires careful attention.
β½οΈοΈ JAMIE WILSON β½οΈ

Despite the huge transfer activity at Townhead in the summer, it is still Jamie who is arguably the biggest influence on the park & is a leader from midfield.
League winner, Scottish Cup winner, League Cup winner. There have been few better midfielders in the West in the last decade than Jamie, such was his impact with Beith.
Began his Junior career with Troon, and after brief forays with St. Cadocβs & Hurlford he now looks settled at Townhead Park.
